Creativity Explosion!
Classroom Drama |
A practical, interactive course constructed using lively and exciting methods tested and polished in the UK and specially customised for Singapore schools. The course aims to introduce students to a number of key themes, characters and issues, which will be brought to life and explored by the students through an exciting range of drama techniques.
We can offer modules on any literature text.
ONLY ONE text would be explored within one module. We can also offer a general Shakespeare module, and other texts may be available on request. Only very basic knowledge of the text under consideration is assumed. The course will not cover the entire text under consideration but will highlight key characters and events.
A number of key themes, characters and issues brought to life and explored by the students through an exciting range of drama techniques.
Students will have had the chance to bring the stories to life, and to develop a deeper understanding of the plots, characters and motivations.
By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of the text under study, enabling them to more intelligently answer key question on the text, characters and plot.
They will also be able to analyse and contextualise the text through a number of different techniques.
They will have gained a good grasp of the main characters, their feelings and conflicts.
They will have developed positive group work skills, a level of self-confidence, a strong creative verbal and physical vocabulary, a positive critical faculty and imaginative thinking.
They will have produced a range of related written, created and performed work, which demonstrates their understanding.
Objectives:
- To explore the text using role-play, characterisation, dramatisation, improvisation, creative and investigative writing.
- To introduce students to a number of key themes, plots, issues and contexts through an exciting range of drama techniques.
- To allow students to gain a good grasp of the main characters, their feelings and conflicts.
- To develop positive group work skills, which will be introduced and developed throughout the programme.
- To develop self-confidence, a strong creative verbal and physical vocabulary, a positive critical faculty, imaginative thinking.
- To allow students to produce a range of related written, created and performed work, which demonstrates their understanding.

Lower Secondary, Upper Secondary, JC, ITE
Short Player Module - 6 hours total. Session length no shorter than 2 hours.
Long Player Module - 12 hours total. Session length no shorter than 2 hours.
All year
Short Player Module: $750. (Based on group size of 25 = $30 per student)
Long Player Module: $1500. (Based on group size of 25 = $60 per student)
Maximum 30 per Instructor
A large classroom or other room, free of all furniture. Use of a CD/cassette tape player and video player and TV.
