Brian Seward is from the north west of England, and has been working in Singapore since 1995. He was originally trained in science, with a BSc (Honours) in Botany, but decided on a career change when building Nuclear Submarines lost its charm. He got sensible and moved on to a career in theatre. When the opportunity arose, he joined a professional theatre company.

Later, he gained a certificate in Tertiary Education and then a post-graduate degree in secondary teaching, specialising in Drama and English. From there he became H.O.D. Drama in a secondary school just north of London, where he worked for four years.

As well as working in approximately 65 schools, he has worked with a number of companies,

directing Theatre-in-Education projects , writing and touring musical plays to schools and devising/directing community arts projects.

For the last 10 years he has travelled all over Singapore teaching Drama, helping schools to put on productions, writing and directing plays, and even occasionally doing some acting.

Brian is also Artistic Director for I Theatre - a company formed in 2001 to produce world-class family centred theatre productions. Amongst the 25 or so productions he has directed and produced over the last 5 years, Of Mice and Men, Little Violet and The Angel, The Nightingale, and The Rainbow Fish have been outstanding hits.

He is also an accomplished actor appearing in local theatre and film productions, and the occasional TV commercial.
